About me
After nearly a decade designing experiments, interpreting translational data, and writing for peer-reviewed journals, I made a deliberate decision: I wanted to help more researchers communicate their science, not just my own.
My background is in translational medicine, molecular biology, women's health, reproductive medicine, and in vivo research. I've been in the position of staring at a dataset and figuring out how to build an argument that peer reviewers will accept — which means I understand the process from the inside, not just as an editor looking at a finished draft.
I completed my Certificate in Medical Editing through the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and have continued to build expertise in clinical data writing, plain-language communication, and AI-assisted authoring tools. I take professional development seriously because the field demands it.
Beyond my writing practice, I serve as a volunteer member of the AMWA Michigan-Indiana Chapter, where I lead the planning and execution of educational programming and the annual chapter conference. I work directly with members to assess professional development needs and shape relevant content, and coordinate communications and event promotion across the chapter. This role keeps me connected to the evolving needs and standards of the medical writing community.
I'm currently in the early stages of my freelance practice and am actively building my client portfolio. I work with academic researchers, early-career scientists, and research teams who need a collaborator who genuinely understands the science — not just the grammar.
I work in English and Portuguese, which means I can support Brazilian research teams without the added friction of language barriers.
